Discography of Jones Bros songs.

The Jone's Bros

" The Jone's Bros "

Our first album, done during the spring and summer of '95 . The whole project started out in the end of the '94 with "Red hot dancing fever"," Powerplay of pride"and " The way of the liar" where Also Records picked up the first single
" Red Hot " .Then the recording went on and on until August when me and Hannu Leiden entered to Musicmakers Studios to mix the album down.
In the end of the mixing session we thought about the sequence of the songs and decided not to keep " The way of the liar " included on the album, purely because it seemed that we had too many ballads on the album.
So that song is released only on our second single
About two months after the release of the album our new keyboardist Gary Jansson got himself some personal problems and was not able to do the upcoming tour in Lapland and afterwards the club gigs in London. So we decided not to have the fifth member in the band anymore. In studio I am playing the keyboards and for the live situation we are using  sequencers in some of the songs. There's only " Rain " and " The Cage " from this album where we use them.

4 Sides Of The Story

" Four sides of the story "

includes  four new songs and one remix.
This project started up from the need to do couple of good songs on the cd as a demo for major record companies. We had a new drummer in the band: Aki Vuorensyrjä, and his style of playing was quite different from Okko's static and tight drumming.
So the songs sorted out much more heavier style than on earlier recordings. " Life goes on " a song about getting older and maybe bit wiser proves the progression of the band. Basss player shows his talent on songwriting on " How the seasons die " . A groovy song about relations that are eventually taken for granted. " Stay ot tonight " a second part for the trilogy that started on  dirty movies album. The main idea is about blocking someone or something out of your life for some selfish or whatever reasons. " the things that seem to change the way we are " A song by Okko and Jone, Things that seem to change us  could be drugs, religion, love ... But if they do, enjoy the ride...  The we got a remix from gifted young fellow called J. Grove. I don't know if this is acid or house or what are they all called, but it sounds pretty good to me. So if you get to hear these songs and thoughts don't hesitate to comment on  jonesbros@jonesites.com

Dirty  Movies

" DIRTY MOVIES "

Dirty movies was recorded again in Captain's place studios within 4 months period. Jones: "We wanted  this time a much more impulsive and intuitional approaching for recording process. Some of the songs are first or second takes and that makes the whole album much more fresh". On "Movies" there is a new elements in the songs as well.Like percussion loops and rhythm programming
Guitars are more on front this time.
Jones: " As a four unit band  it is obvious that we sound more like a guitar band.
The other reason is that we felt like we want to course the band more to the guitar wall area. On live situation we sound like a guitar band anyway so this is much closer to live than on the first album".

Oldschool

" OLDSCHOOL "

Basic recording of this album was made in three days on october of  2003. Eventually during 2004 and 2005 it started to finish up song by song.
Originally I didn't think this is going to take that long to make ready, but days and months just went by and all at once it was spring of 2005. The theme of this album was oldschool. So all the album is made in oldschool style, meaning no clicktracks, programming, looping or "paste and copy" style editing. Every note you hear there is 100 % playing. In the old days recording studios did not have a possibility  to loop or copy parts of the recorded material like everyone has today. So you had to sing or play every note there and that is one of the reasons why almost all music made before drum machine or computer invasion at late seventies sounds sort of organic and human. On this album I tried to recreate that sort of feeling and atmosphere in the music.
